Ceiling Painting & Repair

Let’s Paint and Fix those old Toronto Ceilings!

Ceilings are an often-neglected part of household repair jobs—until it's too late. We've talked to many homeowners who tended to focus on floors and walls while forgetting ceilings until they showed signs of water damage, or worse.

Stucco or popcorn ceilings are currently trendy due to their dramatic looks and the flair that they add to space. However, these ceilings also require a lot more work than do traditional flat ceilings. The small crevices tend to collect dust, which will quickly build up and make the entire space unhealthy in which to live. And then you still have to deal with potential issues that affect other ceilings, like water damage and fading due to excess sunlight.

No matter what type of ceiling you have, it's vital to work with someone who understands the underlying problems that ceilings may develop. Instead of just painting over any issues, be sure to address the underlying causes to guarantee the best possible results.

Let’s look at some of the leading causes of ceiling problems.

Water Damage

Water damage is something you need to address as quickly as possible. Water damage on a ceiling is most often a symptom of a leaky roof, though leaky pipes may also be a factor. We recommend that you contact a plumber to address the underlying issue.

Once you've gotten the all-clear from a plumber, we're happy to come in and get your ceiling looking as good as new. Our first step is to evaluate the state of the ceiling and identify areas of potential rot. We'll remove these areas as part of our drywall ceiling repair and replace them with brand-new drywall that we'll then paint over for a seamless effect.

Rest assured that we take pride in our work and will never simply paint over a water-damaged ceiling to hide the stain. Instead, we'll remove any traces of mold and rot and ensure that everything is structurally sound before even touching a brush.

Popcorn Ceiling Repair

Popcorn ceiling repair needs a special touch and an understanding of stucco. As with our other ceiling repairs, we'll evaluate each situation individually and identify a solution for each problem. Many of our clients find that stucco ceilings are a haven for dust, dirt, and spiderwebs, as well as an odor trap, especially if they're damaged.

That's why our stucco ceiling repair process takes the nature of popcorn ceilings into account. We'll only start painting once we're satisfied that the ceiling is clean and structurally sound. The end result is a ceiling that complements the room and looks great.

Even if your current ceiling doesn't show any signs of damage, it's a good idea to schedule routine care and maintenance. Dust build-up can affect your health and that of your family, and smoke stains are an unsightly problem that's easy to fix. By addressing these problems quickly, you can have a ceiling that you're proud of—all the time.

If you want to see the value of ceiling repairs and regular care, why not schedule an appointment with us today? You'll be amazed at what a difference a clean ceiling will make to your living space.
